Becky Yount
Becky Yount has been teaching Group Exercise classes in the Reno/Sparks area for the last three years. Before that she taught classes in Southern California. She has three national certifications; ACE (American Council on Exercise), AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America), and AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association). She was a Master Instructor for 24Hour Fitness for three years, and has been featured in three of their instructional DVD’s. She also holds certificates in Senior Fitness, Prenatal Fitness, Mat Pilates Fundamentals, Resistance training, Schwinn Cycle Training, and Senior Fitness. Becky’s journey into fitness is a bit different than many other instructors. Becky is the wife of a minister, mother of two grown children, a grandmother of two and a devoted friend.
Becky’s holds a degree in Clothing Design and Merchandise, and worked and lived in Costa Rica and Chile for almost ten years with her husband and children. Upon returning to the States she worked in the Children’s Library as a Library Assistant, Story-teller and Bilingual contingent for a public library in California while pursuing her education as a Fitness Professional. She has also directed and been involved in women’s ministries.
Becky teaches at BodyFuel Fitness, 24Hour Fitness and St. Mary’s Center for Health and Fitness. She teaches Lifting/Sculpting classes, Cycling, Boot Camp/Interval classes, Mat Pilates, Senior Fitness and Aquatic classes.
Becky loves encouraging others to “get moving,” be stronger, and to take better care of themselves, whether physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. A friend of Becky’s once said to her – regarding Becky’s personal journey to better health – “I know why it’s worked for you. You bought it hook, line and sinker.” She returned to fitness in her forties, and continues to grow as a person, and as a devoted instructor in the fitness industry. One thing she well understands is that “You can’t take anyone anywhere you haven’t been yourself.” “We are all a work in progress! We can help each other grow!
